The King's Will (Epic Fantasy BDSM Romance) Page 3
I bit my lip and looked at him with wide eyes.
“This is the sacrifice the prophecy demands.”
A tear slipped down my cheek and he caught it with one finger, sucking its salt into his mouth. “Are you so weak that you cry for yourself? You live a life of soft privilege while babies die and crops wither.”
I glared at him. “I am not weak and there is nothing soft about my life, Your Grace.”
He just shrugged at me. “The tongue stone does not give me your words. Will you fulfill the prophecy or not?”
Inhaling deeply, I inched my legs apart.
He smiled at me in approval and reached out to touch my core, stirring the passion he had awakened there the other night. “Spread your legs wider, princess.” He encouraged me with his touch alone to spread wider and wider. Soon my legs were so far apart, the muscles shook in protest. The change in position had used up the slack in the chain holding my arms overhead. I hung, suspended by my wrists, my torso stretched long and legs split wide.
He flicked the flogger over my legs, letting the straps wrap around my thighs and calves. Again the contact was gentle and more a kiss than a sting as he had so aptly described it. Then he did the same between my legs. I saw the straps arcing up to hit my core and flinched. My stomach contracted and I closed my eyes, holding my breath, waiting for the pain.
All I felt was a soft pressure. He had not used much force. The next several strikes were the same, no pain, only pressure. My body relaxed and pleasure replaced fear. Soon I began to moan with every hit. In the distance, I heard a faint rumble of thunder.
“The rain comes with you, princess.” The next hit was harder, but in a good way. It fed the desire burning in my belly. I had thought the flogger would only deal in pain, but was relieved to know I was wrong.
More thunder boomed and lightning flickered.
The Koti smacked me harder yet and I found myself pushing down to meet the flogger, eager for its touch. As my pleasure escalated so did the storm. Wetness seeped from my core matching the downpour that opened above the castle. Water streamed down the windows, sparkling like jewels from the lightning.
I gave a harsh cry as my release washed over me, both from the intensity of the sensations shuddering through me and from the sudden sting of the flogger. The Koti had timed the hardest hit with my climax and the pain ripped through me in tandem with pleasure. At the same time, lightning boomed overhead and reached into the courtyard below, sizzling into the ground there.
The Koti put his warm hands on my ribs and supported me as I brought my legs back under me. Then, he reached up and untied me, massaging my aching shoulders and upper arms.
Pulling me against his smooth chest, he leaned down and captured my lips with his in a fierce kiss. I had no choice but to open for him, as his tongue easily claimed my mouth. He tasted of wine and the spices used to make our bridal feast.
Still kissing me, he pinned my wrists behind my back with one hand and nudged me toward the bed. “On your hands and knees.”
I pushed myself up into position and tried not to think of the view he had of my backside.
He stroked a hand down my spine and between my legs. “You are ripe for me, princess.” To prove the point, he wiggled a finger into me and I stopped breathing at the invasion into my core. First one finger, then a second worked inside me, pushing against my walls. “You’re wet as the rain.” He laughed and withdrew his hand to smack my backside. I jumped with a yelp at the contact. Instinct bid me to reach behind me and cover my exposed flesh, but before I could move, he growled, “Stay in position, princess.”
I went still, shivering as he caressed both my rear cheeks with his hands. Something grazed my core and I gasped when I realized what it must be. I closed my eyes and sent a silent prayer to the Goddess. Take my innocence, Mother, but keep my heart pure.
The Koti gripped my hips, his fingers digging into my soft flesh. With one smooth movement, he thrust inside me, tearing away the barrier of my virginity. I cried out, hands gripping the bedcovers until my knuckles were white.
He went still behind me and then his strong, warm hands kneaded their way up my spine to my shoulders. With a shove he said simply, “Down.”
The top half of my body sank into the bed, the raw silk of the bedspread caressing my nipples. I turned my head to the side so I could breathe and waited for what would come next. I expected him to ride me like I was his horse, but instead he wiggled a finger into my back entrance. My body resisted him, but he was stronger and forced my flesh to yield to his insistent command. I bit my bottom lip and held my breath, shocked at his use of me.
“I will take you here when your belly is big with my son.” He shifted and slowly moved deeper inside me. Impossibly, the length of his hardness and his finger rub against each other inside me and I shivered. My eyes opened wide as I understood that I liked the sensation.
With his finger still in my backside, he pumped me with his hard shaft. There was a slight tinge of pain, but the pleasure was bigger. It swelled up in me, taking over my belly and my lungs until I could barely breathe. Now I gripped the bed so I wouldn’t fly apart trying to hold it all in.
His other hand left my hip and reached under to stroke my core. I gasped and reared back, pushing down on his length.
“Forward,” he said, his deep voice vibrating over my skin. I obeyed, leaning forward until just the tip of him was lodged within me. He continued to pluck at the sensitive nub between my legs and then ordered, “Back.”
I pushed and accepted him into me. He repeated the orders over and over and I pumped myself on his shaft at the pace he dictated. All the while his fingers teased the pleasure building up inside me. Soon I couldn’t even focus enough to hear his voice or understand his words, all that mattered was between my legs. Through the haze of passion, I was dimly aware that the rain had intensified, drumming down with such ferocity that it almost drowned out the thunder.
The Koti removed his finger from my back entrance and gripped one of my hips, clamping down on my skin until I moaned in pain. In response, he pinched the bud between my legs. The sharp sensation caused me to buck, shrieking as ecstasy overtook me. His other hand grabbed my opposite hip and he drove into me at such a fast pace it was all I could do not to bounce off the bed. My hands scrabbled to maintain their hold while my body convulsed. A dazzling series of lightning strikes illuminated the room, so bright it was close to the glare of the sun. With one final thrust, he seemed to swell larger inside me and then he grunted.
For a long moment after that, we remained joined, but motionless, the storm whirling around us. With a sigh, he collapsed on top of me, covering my smaller frame with his larger one. I listened to the steady patter of rain, which had decreased from its earlier crescendo, feeling oddly comforted by the press of the Koti’s skin against mine.
When he rolled off me, I snuggled up against him, not wanting to break contact. He wrapped his arm around me and squeezed me close, patting my hip in approval. “You did well, princess.”
“Thank you, my Koti,” I said and then I put a hand to my lips, shocked to realize my words had been Daliki.
He chuckled at my surprise. “The tongue stone has given you my words, yes?”
I fingered the jewel at my throat and nodded in wonder.
The Koti traced the side of my body with a finger. “Give yourself to me and we give water to the world.”
“Yes, my Koti.” I didn’t resist when he pushed me on my back and spread my legs with the nudge of a knee. He was already hard again and my hips lifted up, reaching.
He smiled. “Let’s see how much more rain there is to come.” And then he was inside me again. Leaning down he captured my nipple in his mouth, tongue flicking across the sensitive tip. I fisted my hands in his hair and pressed into him, moaning with thoughtless abandon.
Outside, the wind howled and the rain came down as the prophecy blessed Siana with water.

Tony Riccio--construction engineer, respected pillar of small town society and my pain-in-the-ass alpha--sighed, leveling a hard gaze at me. Pitching his voice low so as not to broadcast pack business to the entire diner, he said, “The pack won’t tolerate this anymore, Miranda.”
I raised an eyebrow and cocked my head to the side at his choice of words. Miranda, he had said. Not my nickname, Randa. He must be really mad this time. It had been my idea to stop for breakfast and now I was glad we were in a public place.
He frowned at me and continued his lecture, which had been going on for about a half hour. “You need to stop. I can’t keep saving you from yourself like this.”
I bowed my head to stare into my coffee. Black and bitter, just the way I liked it. “It wasn’t my fault, Tony.”
He snorted. “You’re in heat and you walk into a biker bar expecting what? A tea party?”
I shrugged and nodded to the waitress who came over to top off my coffee. “You need anything else, darlin’?” She gave me a kind smile and Tony the stink eye.
Unhappy at the interruption, Tony growled low in his throat, the sound outside the range of her human ears, but not mine. “We’re fine. Thanks.”
She moved on with a nod and the full weight of Tony’s anger settled back on me. “No more excuses, Miranda. I can’t keep picking you up at the police station like this. Sooner or later you’ll be arrested, not taken into protective custody.” He held up his hand, folding the thumb into his palm. “There are four guys in the hospital this time. You’re inciting violence. Hurting people.”
I grimaced because he had a point. I would grant him that much. I had just wanted to go out and have some fun without all the rules that governed my life. Rules Tony made. But, of course, he was right--damn him for it--a female wolf at her sexual peak really did have to watch herself. I had thought wolves were dangerous, but now I knew humans could be just as bad.
“Worse, that biker gang at the bar? You put one of theirs in the hospital with a brain bleed and they are smart enough to recognize trouble when they see it. You’re on their shit list. They are looking for you right now. If you don’t stay out of their way, you’re going to drag us into a bloody fight to defend you.”
I blanched at that bit of news. “I had no idea.” Things had moved so fast the night before. One minute I’d been sucking down cold long necks and grinding my way through the men on the dance floor. The next, guys started throwing punches and grabbing at me. I had pushed them away and hidden under a table until the police broke it up.
Tony stabbed the table with his finger. “It ends. Starting now. You are a wolf, and you’re going to act like one.”
The hair on the back of my neck bristled. “You mean, doing what you say when you say it. Like a puppet.”
“No, like the full pack member you are. You put us all in jeopardy with this behavior. God, can you imagine...what if you had been arrested and changed in jail?” He sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair. “You either start behaving or I’ll run you out of town and the Moon Bay pack. The biker gang can have you and we won’t even blink.”
There was a long silence as he let me digest that.
“Did you bring a leash?” I slumped in my chair, my expression sullen. “Or a shock collar?” In truth, I was scared, but growing up on the streets had taught me to never show weakness. So I became a smartass instead.
“Don’t tempt me, Miranda.” He drained the last of his coffee. “No, I have something else in mind. Or, rather, someone else.”
I looked at him, confused. “Someone?”
“I never thought being alpha would come down to this, but I’ve matched you with someone. A wolf who actually likes you, but you’re always too busy thumbing your nose at the pack to notice.”
“You mated me?” Was that even possible? Or allowed?
Tony nodded. “It’s not forever. Just for now. Once we get you through this heat, I’ll listen to your ideas on how to handle it in the future.” He shook a finger at me. “But hear me when I say the days of you doing whatever you want are over.”
“Who’s the wolf?” I asked curious.
“Hunter.”
I just blinked. Hunter was Tony’s second-in-command. Built like a tank and quietly brooding, I don’t think he’d ever said more than two words to me. He liked me? That was news to me.

Excerpt of To Bring Her Wolf
I raised the wine bottle in a toast. “Happy twenty fifth birthday to me.” My living room was empty so no one answered or looked at me funny when I went on to say, “And to being run out of town.” With a morose frown, I tipped the bottle back against my lips and let the fruity wine flood my mouth. Using a glass was an unnecessary formality when drinking alone.
Taking another slug from the bottle, I contemplated my immediate future. Tomorrow I would load up a moving truck and go out to make my life among humans. Even though I wasn’t one. Technically. But those were the rules and I didn’t belong in Huntsville. Not anymore.
A knock sounded at my door.
“Pizza’s here,” I said. Talking to myself kept me from being lonely. I fumbled with my purse and extracted the requisite twenty. Flinging my front door open, I accepted the box from Peter. He was seventeen with a lanky frame still waiting to fill out. He’d been my pizza guy for at least a year. “Thanks, Pete.” I offered the money.
He held up his hands. “This one’s on me, Miss. Stark.” He looked at me with pity. He knew. Hell, they all knew. I was the talk of the town. The only null in four generations, and the horror that kept the parents of Huntsville up at night. The frightful aberration they used to make children behave.
Clean your room or you won’t change either.
Eat your peas or you’ll be homeless too.
I blinked and swallowed back the bitterness. “Thanks.”

Good luck, Miss Stark.”
“Luck has passed me by, Pete.” He didn’t know what to say to that and shifted uncomfortably, staring at his feet. I saved him further discomfort by slamming the door shut, and retreating into the living room with the pizza.
I’d taken two bites when there another knock sounded at the door. I froze, my brow furrowed at the noise. The knock came again. I finished chewing and went to the door, irritation creeping up my spine.
I flung the door open a little harder than I’d intended and it bounced off the wall, forcing me to keep it from closing with my hand. “What is it, Pete?” My tone was hostile.
“Hello Chloe.”
I would never mistake that deep baritone for an adolescent pizza delivery boy.
My breath caught in my throat and I looked up, up and up to meet the gaze of Jackson Swift. There are bad boys and there’s badass. Jackson was very much the latter. He’d moved to Huntsville at the invitation of the pack alpha. I’d given him wide berth because staying out of pack business was expected of me and a new wolf was definitely pack business.
We’d worked together for a bit at the bar. I’d waitressed there ever since I was of age, and, six months ago, he sweet talked his way into bartending. I’d seen it happen. My boss, Sheila, had swooned like a flower in a wind storm. She was putty in his hands.
Whenever we worked the same shift, he’d watched me like he was hungry and I was raw steak. It weirded me out, and I avoided him every chance I got. A few times he had even tried to talk to me, but I had just turned around and gone the other way, heat burning my cheeks. Soon whatever interest he had in me cooled and he’d focused his attention on Allison, the bar slut. She went home with everyone.
For the record, I never went home with anyone.
Mostly because no one wanted me.
“What are you doing here?” My eyes narrowed and I shifted my weight back, ready to step into the house and slam the door for a second time that night. Yet despite my wariness I couldn’t help but drink in the sight of him; handsome as rock star and built like a fireman. He should be on a stud-of-the-month calendar, not my front porch watching me with eyes the color of chocolate streaked with caramel.
